Dr Urman Named a 2023 Castle Connolly Top Doctor

Cedars-Sinai Smidt Heart Institute cardiologist, Dr. Mark Urman has once again been named a Castle Connolly Top Doctor for 2023. This is a recognition that only goes to the top 7% of all US board-certified physicians.
Dr. Urman has had the distinction of being recognized by his peers for over a decade by Castle Connolly (since 2011). Doctors cannot pay to be selected as Castle Connolly Top Doctors. Their peer-to-peer nominations and rigorous research process ensure only the most qualified physicians are included. While many other sites may make the same claim, patients and physicians across the country trust that Castle Connolly always stands by this promise.
Mark K. Urman, MD, FACC, FASE, FAHA has had the distinction of being recognized by his peers in U.S. News & World Report’s Top Doctors as well. In addition to being one of America’s Best Doctors, he has been honored for his expertise by being named one of “America’s Top Physicians” in Cardiology (Consumer’s Research Council of America) multiple times, has been listed in The Guide to America’s Top Cardiologists numerous times and is found in The Leading Physicians of The World recognizing Doctors of Excellence. He has been selected a Top Cardiologist in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills by the International Association of Cardiologists. Dr. Urman has been named by his peers to the Southern California Super Doctors® list for the last fifteen consecutive years, both in Los Angeles Magazine and separate publications distributed with the Los Angeles Times (most recently in January 2023). These top doctors in Los Angeles were selected via independent research and polling of their peers and Dr. Urman is humbled that he has been repeatedly recognized as one of the best cardiologists in Southern California for over the past decade and a half. He is one of a few outstanding practicing doctors in the city named as part of the Southern California Super Doctors Hall of Fame. Dr. Urman has been named as one of Los Angeles Magazine’s Top Doctors every year since their first list in 2018. He also has been named as an “Industry Favorite” on the Hollywood’s Top Doctors list in the Hollywood Reporter. He is considered to be in the top one percent of America’s Most Honored Professionals. While he is proud of his recognition as a top cardiologist, he especially takes pride in being able to connect with his patients. As a testament to this, he was awarded the Ben Newman, MD Award at Cedars-Sinai in recognition for compassion and empathy toward his patients.
